While the team here at Marc Motors Nissan was celebrating our own form of March Madness by giving away iPads to lucky customers, Nissan was having a celebration of its own. Nissan North America announced its best U.S. sales ever this past March.

Want to know which Nissan models helped them to achieve such great sales?

The Nissan service team in our Sanford, ME car service center sure did. Everyone seemed to have an opinion about which of the new Nissan models helped drive the company to record sales in this still-recovering economy.

Here is the big picture. It appears the car maker has seen its sales increase by 1 percent over last year at this time. The volume also increased by 0.4 percent which correlates to just over 126,000 deliveries. The company's luxury car arm Infiniti, was also up 9 percent from last March.

Now, let's get a little more specific about the particular models driving this increase in auto sales.

Nissan models that drove March 2013 sales:
  • Nissan Pathfinder: This SUV had a major impact with an increase in sales of over 172 percent
  • Nissan LEAF: This green car with its amazing fuel efficiency (92 mpg Hwy/106 mpg City) added 2,236 deliveries, a 286.2 percent increase, to the company's bragging rights
  • Nissan Altima: The consistently popular sedan did its part with sales of 37,763 vehicles
  • Nissan Versa: The best-selling U.S. sub-compact sold close to 16,000 units with 15,917

Clearly, a very good month for our favorite car maker. Want to know what the best-selling Nissan cars are here in Maine?
