If you've even caught a glimpse of the redesigned 2013 Nissan Altima at 1357 Main St in Sanford, ME, you know it has a certain sporty flair that's simply begging to be unleashed on the open road. Knowing this as well, Nissan Motorsport in Australia recently decked out the mid-size sedan in some seriously daring racing liveries and added an extra kick of power under the hood.

To be more specific: Nissan has equipped its Altima-based supercar with a 5.6-liter V8 engine under the hood in order for it to compete in Australian touring car racing. Expected to produce well over 600 horsepower, all eyes are on Nissan as the season officially kicks off.

In total, Nissan is entering two Altima supercars into the 2013 Australian touring car racing season. One will be sponsored by Jack Daniels, in a black-and-white livery; the other by Norton Anti-Virus, in a fitting black-and-yellow scheme.

"Our Altimas are now in combat colors and ready for battle," exclaims Nissan Australia Managing Director and CEO William F. Peffer Jr. "2013 is guaranteed to be an exciting year for the sport of V8 Supercars, and especially for Nissan Motorsport."1

If you want to catch these two exciting Nissan supercars on the track, be sure to keep an eye out for them on U.S. soil from May 17th through the 19th. They'll be competing at the new Circuit of the Americas.
