Last time out we talked about the Rogue's all-wheel drive system and how it can help you battle back against tough conditions. Today we thought we'd get even more rugged and detail the 4WD system in the Nissan Frontier. Watch this helpful clip to see how to use the feature properly, no matter what the conditions are like in Sanford, ME.

At this point, you might be wondering what the differences are between AWD and 4WD. It's a valid question, and one we get a lot here at Marc Motors Nissan. The technology is obviously advanced, but the basic answer lies in the locking differential.

When all four wheels are engaged in the Frontier, the diff lock makes sure that every wheel spins at exactly the same speed. It's great for tough terrain, but when you're cruising, you'll actually want your vehicle's wheels to spin at varying speeds, especially when taking turns. That's why you'll disengage 4WD on the highway.

All-wheel drive, on the other hand, is active at all times. And though you're getting power from all 4 tires, they will spin at varying speeds when you're turning. That helps you get maximum grip on the road.
